Published by Shelldon Wells On 24 February, 2021

February is the month of love – We love the hills
….. all thousand of them!

The Valley of 1000 Hills Community Tourism Organisation were thrilled to partner up with the Independent Online and created a competition where 3 lucky couples stood to win and amazing Valentines package that included a nights accommodation in the 1000 Hills, a pampering at one of the amazing local spas as well as a romantic dinner at one of the fantastic eateries in the 1000 Hills

The lucky three winners were;

South Africa – Durban – 11 February 2021 – Coronavirus – Deandre Ramcharan collected the prize to give to his parents for Valentine’s Day. Dad – Sathaseelan Ramcharan (known as Ravi) entered the competition – he was encouraged to enter by his son Deandre. Picture: Shelley Kjonstad/African News Agency(ANA)
South Africa – Durban – 11 February 2021 – Coronavirus – Winners Jasantha and Kevan Iyappa Parents of 10 year old triplets – so love the idea of having a break! They are IoS subscribers – Saturday mornings are not complete without coffee in one hand and the paper in the other! Kevan’s Dad also loves the newspaper – and they often read it together with him. They were very keen to enter – as a family they like to do fun things to show they love each other And they have had a “horrible” lockdown – losing family members to Cov id. This year due to Covid they didn’t celebrate their wedding anniversary either And Jacintha has a big birthday (with a zero in it) coming up soon – so it is the perfect treat! South Africa – Durban – 11 February 2021 – Coronavirus – Winners Cindy and Lucian van Wyk with 5 month old Callyn. Based in Newlands East, they are so chuffed to win the prize – they prayed and prayed cos they needed a break. Their second anniversary is coming up – so this is a double treat. Last year – their first anniversary – they were in Lockdown and pregnant with Callyn – so they are looking forward to this this time away. They have grown up reading newspapers – especially from Cindy’s parents side. They are having a date night away – little Callyn will be having a sleepover with family and not joining them! There is so much to see and do in the area that an overnight or even an extended stay is the best way to spend your vacation. The 1000 Hills area offers activities from horse-riding to go-karting, fishing and boating to archery, skeet shooting to ziplineing and so much more. Oh, and all of this is only 20 minutes away from the beach! Thinking about your next vacation? Give the 1000 Hills an opportunity to make your vacation to Durban, one to remember.
