Heartland Appeal in the Valley of a 1000 Hills

The Valley of a 1000 Hills is well known throughout Durban for being the centre of equestrian activities, whether it be horse racing, dressage or show jumping or polocrosse. Heartland Rescue and Rehabilitation is an organisation that assists in the rescue and care of these amazing animals and they now need your help!

From Heartland themselves

Dear valued supporter, Heartland Rescue and Rehabilitation (NPO 299-765) is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating horses, dogs, and other animals in need. We also run a skills development program for underprivileged youth, with notable successes including scholarship opportunities at the South African Jockey Academy and sponsorships from the South African Show Jumping Federation.

Our community initiatives include fun days for rural children and holiday gift distributions, benefiting both the kids and local horse owners. We currently support six families through our staff. We are facing challenges due to a recent fire that destroyed our fencing and grazing fields.

Our urgent needs are funding for hay for our animals and financial support to rebuild fencing. We appeal for your support to continue our vital work and expand our impact on animals, youth, and the community.
