Free entry to Phezulu Safari Park includes: two restaurants, kids play area, view, shield factory and two curio shops.
Charged activities are Reptile Park, Cultural Village and Zulu dance show and game drive into our beautiful private game reserve.
We have 2 restaurants providing a variety of meals from Crocodile to Burgers.
Our accommodation is made up of a lodge and three self catering Chalets with a view of the valleys. We are the perfect venue for Weddings, Conferences, Work Functions, Kids Birthday Parties, Team Building.
Phezulu Safari Park is only 35 minutes from Durban situated between Durban and Pietermaritzburg in the Valley of 1000 Hills.
Phezulu has been providing entertainment to the local and foreign tourist industry in the Valley of 1000 Hills for the last 25 years. This jewel of Durban has humble beginnings a small Zulu village which has transformed into a world famous destination. Phezulu Safari Park is about having unique experiences, creating memories and refreshing ones soul. Whilst only 35 minutes from Durban you escape completely from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Phezulu Reptile Park
The reptile park has been upgraded and now includes a brand new exotic snake collection and new baby alligators to our already elaborate indigenous snake and Nile crocodile collection. Come and face your fears by handling a harmless brown house snake, or holding our 40kg Burmese Python “Cleo” or if you are rally brave try our Fear Factor Challenge where you can “enjoy” a meal inside one of our crocodile enclosures.
Phezulu Zulu Village and Dance Show
Our Zulu village has been the mainstay of Phezulu Safari Park. The Gasa family have been entertaining our guests for years with their traditional dance shows demonstrating their skills with grace, agility and humour. The Zulu village tour also teaches you about the culture and traditions of Zulu living and feel free to visit our Zulu Shield and Spear factory. Zulu village tours and dance shows are at 10:00, 11:30, 14:00 and 15:30.
Phezulu Game Reserve
Our game park has the friendliest Giraffe in the world. Visitors are driven into the Historical Valley of 1000 hills by our guides in open 4×4 game vehicles which lends itself to the beautiful views of the area. You are guaranteed to get up close and personal with wildlife such as Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Impala, Blesbuck and a variety of beautiful bird species. …. A photographer’s delight.
Phezulu Boma and Spaza Restaurant
The two restaurants have been upgraded and the new food and coffee menu now appeals to the many locals visiting the park while retaining traditional flavours and methods . The Boma restaurant appeals to someone looking for a beautiful meal or coffee whilst enjoying the view. The Spaza Restaurant has a free kids play area where you can relax whilst the kids play or visit the reptile park under the safe supervision of our guides. We also cater for Kids Parties. Reptile tours are hourly and there are venomous snake demonstrations on weekends and public holidays at 12:30.

Phezulu Functions
Phezulu offers a unique wedding venue with a beautiful view or even get married in the game reserve under a massive fig tree with the added bonus of being able to house out of town guests within the park. Each package is tailored to suite the bride and groom. Phezulu also caters for Team Building, Conferences, Kids Parties, Year End Functions.
Phezulu Game Estate
Phezulu Game Estate is a Residential Estate nestled in The Valley of A Thousand Hills, that offers families “a Place Like No Other”. Each Free Hold site boarders on to wide open spaces with magnificent views and free roaming game. The immensely beautiful indigenous gardens entice both the birds and the game to live amongst the homes, which mimics their natural environment. Incorporated into the Estate are cycling tracks and walking trails, all set with in the safety of the Estate Boundaries and with the back drop of the Monteseal Cliffs and The Dramatic Valley of a Thousand Hills.
